The Movies that Matter Festival goes beyond watching films; it’s dedicated to cultivating meaningful dialogue andconnections. As such, a significant number of films are accompanied by contextual programming, which includes introductions, post-screening discussions, and various specials such as dance performances.

Thrilling Competitions and Award Nights
During our festival at the end of March, it marks the one-year anniversary of the intense earthquake in Türkiye andSyria. For this reason, and due to the recent election campaign in Turkey, we are placing a special focus on Türkiye andTurkish films this year. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Turkish films.
But that’s not all – get ready for the excitement of our various competitions. The Activist programme focuses ondocumentaries that illuminate the lives of human rights defenders, while Camera Justitia delves into the significance ofthe rule of law and the battle against impunity. And don’t miss our Audience Award Night, where the best film, chosen by you, takes home the Audience Award, showcased during the thrilling Best of #MtMF24 day on Saturday, 30 March.
