Art The Hague supports contemporary Ukrainian art

The 11th edition of the international contemporary art fair Art The Hague will take place in The Fokker Terminal The Hague from 2 to 6 October 2024. Art The Hague will surprise art lovers as well as collectors with works by top international artists. With a strong selection of 48 galleries and exhibitions, the regular line up of Art The Hague is noteworthy, with both young and renowned galleries. Many are coming to the fair and Netherlands for the first time this year. Newcomers include the Belgian Mees-Van De Wiele Galerie, Namuso Gallery, Sato Gallery, MOYA and Block A Gallery UA-NL. Renowned galleries like Livingstone Gallery, Chabot Fine Art/ASAP, Art Gallery O-68, Galerie Mia Joosten, and Project 2.0 also present their international artists.

This year, Art The Hague dedicates special attention to contemporary Ukrainian art. The fair will showcase the modern Ukrainian art scene in collaboration with Block A Gallery UA-NL and curator Mariana Dzhulai. The fair will be opened by the Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine in the Netherlands, Mr. Oleksandr Karasevych. Featured artists include well-known figures who have represented Ukraine internationally and young artists gaining recognition.

The exhibition invites the audience to explore Ukraine’s artistic world, which, despite the war, remains resolute in its hope for the future through the power of creativity and resilience. It is an invitation to hear Ukrainian stories, to see visions and to feel emotions. Art is presented as a means of combating dark forces, as therapy, and as a source of inspiration. Selected works illustrate the crucial role of art during the Russian war in Ukraine. In the last few years, global attention has turned to Ukraine, sparking interest in its history, culture and art. Ukrainian exhibitions have been featured in renowned museums worldwide, including the Albertinum, Tate Modern and the Louvre. The Ukrainian Booth at Art The Hague features distinguished artists such as Oleh Tistol, Maria Kulikovska, Max Vityk, Roman Zhuk, Ave Libertatemaveamor, Maxim Mamsikov and Andriy Bludov.
